Questions

Straight answers

Who is Westhaven Power?

A family-owned solar and battery installer headquartered in Yuba City, California. In 15+ years our own in-house crews have completed more than 10,000 installations across Northern California. Licensed California contractor, CSLB No. 965111.

Who is the founder of Westhaven Power?

Brett Joerger. He founded Westhaven Power in Yuba City in 2011 and still leads it today. Brett came up through the trades, HVAC first, then master electrician, more than 20 years of hands-on work in all. In 2024 he wrote the book Grid Liberation about why owning your power is the smart move now. He is not a salesman who bought a solar company. He is the person who builds these systems, and the company still runs on that.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Westhaven Power is 100% in-house. The people who design your system, install it, and service it all work here. That is true for every one of our 10,000+ installs.

What is the Power Guard Guarantee?

Our production guarantee, in writing. Your system produces at least what we say it will, and we sign a contract that says so. The number lives in your signed Power Guard contract, and Power Guard monitoring watches every system we install around the clock.

What areas do you serve?

Northern California, from our Yuba City headquarters: the Yuba-Sutter area, Redding, Chico, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Not sure if we reach you? Call 866-575-4112.

How does the process work?

Three steps. We share your options: every path for your home in plain English. We design around your home: your roof, your usage, your goals. You take charge of your power: our crew installs it and Power Guard watches it around the clock.

What does an estimate cost?

Nothing. You get every option with exact numbers before you decide anything, and the homework we do is yours to keep either way.

Is there still a tax credit for solar?

The one everyone knew ended on December 31, 2025. But federal solar incentives did not disappear, they changed shape. Companies that own and operate solar systems can still earn them, and done right that value shows up in your monthly number. We keep a plain-English page on exactly this, and your tax professional confirms what applies to you.

What do you install besides solar?

Battery storage (Tesla Powerwall and Enphase), home EV charging, and Kohler backup generators for homes that truly need one. All of it designed and installed by the same in-house crew.

My solar came from another company. Can you help?

Yes. Our service crew diagnoses and repairs existing systems across Northern California, including systems whose installer disappeared, and can add Power Guard monitoring so someone is watching it around the clock.

Do batteries really keep the lights on during a PSPS shutoff?

Yes. Your home makes and stores its own power, so when the grid goes down, your house keeps running. We design battery systems around the outages your area actually faces.

How do I talk to a real person?

Call 866-575-4112. You call, we show up. Or start online and a real person from our Yuba City team follows up with your numbers.
